I saw this last night and thought it was wonderful.

It is easy enough to deride what Hill-Gibbins and the creative team have done here as 'gimmicky' but for me all of the decisions worked. Probably some of the most exciting staging I have seen at the Olivier.

The cast are all stellar: John Heffernan, Kyle Soller, Vanessa Kirby and Kirsty Bushell give particularly outstanding performances.

This will polarise National Theatre audiences because it is not a 'safe' version of this play. It is, however, an engaging, invigorating and an enlightening one.
