Saw this in Sunderland last night and was pleasantly surprised. Quite impressed with the set. The cast all put in a good performance but the standouts were James Paterson as Mr Cunningham (his accent was spot on), Andrew Waldron as Ralph and Scott Waugh as Ritchie (very good in his professional debut). Also must mention Cheryl Baker as Mrs Cunningham (loved the references to Bucks Fizz). I agree with an earlier post who said that Ben Freeman had no stage charisma as Fonzie. There were nearly 1,000 people in and most of them were up on their feet at the end singing along to "Happy Days".

I see loads of theatre but have not seen Once - it simply does not appeal to me at all! Hated the film. Plus it is almost never discounted at TKTS. No wonder it is not full. But then I suspect it is a cheap show to run and they are better off selling fewer tickets at full price - but I think it was something like £67.00 when I last saw the price at tickets - no chance!

I saw the film and didn't like it but I love the stage version. I have seen it twice and going for a 3rd time in April to see the new cast.

Favourite shows were MOJO, Peter and Alice and Once. Favourite performer Ben Whishaw by a mile.

Saw this on Friday night and admittedly only originally booked to see it because of the cast. Ben Whishaw was brilliant as already mentioned by other posts, Daniel Mays was a revelation and was pleasantly surprised by Rupert Grint. Overall I thought the play was very good but the second half seemed a bit too long for me. I would have loved to have seen it again but distance, my purse and the  fact that its pretty much sold out means not this time alas!
