just interested, what are the main differences you noticed between the London and Dutch productions of wicked? I mean in terms of staging, production, orchestra etc.?

Great news!

I have heard fantastic things about Willemijn Verkaik and am sure she will do fantastically well in London. It is my opinion that the women playing Elphaba in London, although fantastically talented, have all been a bit 'cookie-cutter Elphaba' as far as all their portrayals go - so I'm looking forward to the depth and originality that I'm sure Willemijn will bring. I'm honestly really pleased. She will have played the role in a phenomenal amount of productions as well, good for her.

I am a firm believer in the idea that the best people for the role should be cast, irrespective of whether they are British or international. Sure we'll get a British performer for the tour, so that's a nice balance.

Very early announcement as well, honestly was not expecting it for months.
