#291093 Chichester - 2014 Season?

Posted kjb on 30 January 2014 - 01:16 AM

Apologies if this is a duplicate post but I've had a quick look and can't see anything similar.

I was just wondering if anyone has any idea what'll be announced for the Chichester season. It's due to be announced officially in March but I'm impatient and want to know if I need to plan a trip or two to the coast.

I noticed one or two restaged simply- Othello obviously centred when the original was in the office set. I loved it all. Remind me when they do the centenary to actually buy a couple of tickets.

Hopefully a bigger tour than the first one. I think this could do well in bigger venues

Jane (a good family friend of mine) had a brain hemorrhage in 2000, thus explaining the small roles since then. I really can't wait to see her in this - I've never seen her on stage before. And I know she can't wait to be back at the RSC.

It was meh. Atmospheric and gorgeous to look at, but no much else was happening. When something was happening, there were so many people around that you couldn't see much. When you could see it was hardly mind blowing. And it's the least interactive theatre I have seen. The audience is defined by being there but totally absent.

If I had come across it by chance on a Friday afternoon, I would have enjoyed it as a different experience and the props / details are gorgeous. But as a major show, it's lacking.
