I always love how the hardcore fans feel that they are owed something and its them that keep the show running

Completely off topic but I hate people who don't have cash on them for small purchases! There are ATM machines everywhere. The time it takes people phaffing around with their pin numbers and waiting for the transaction to be approved! Rant over!

Count me another who is glad that theatres don't accept cards for programme sales - what next, the ice cream seller having to faff around for people who 'don't carry cash' but who know perfectly well that it costs a lot more for organisations to accept cards and that every transaction takes longer.

I saw Howard Davies script in hand in Paul at the Cottesloe. It was an interesting experience, and I particularly enjoyed it when someone in the audience told him to speak up!

#287303 Has There Been An Accident Tonight In A West End Theatre?

Walker is disgraceful. going on about how it's because there's too much spectacle; he has no concept of theatre or its history, theatre has always put the latest technology on stage and nowadays it is much less cumbersome and heavy. When decent critics are being offloaded elsewhere, how someone like him still gets given the time of day is shocking.

And Fizzi I hate to say this as I'm always accused of being involved in Charlie as I enjoyed it so much BUT your post reads like you are working on it!!

I wish the cast a wonderful first night too... Get drunk on free champagne and enjoy the night, then get some auditions lined up Thursday.

I can assure you I'm not working on this or any other show and I resent the implications. What a shame you feel the need to resort to personal attacks.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the show. Many people are so let's hope there is room in the Westend for new productions to develop so that we can enjoy a diverse range of entertainment.

I tend not to get involved in conversations like this, but despite personal feeling towards shows, I feel it rather sad to wish them to close. If people started chatting online about your place of work closing because things were not going so well it would not feel great. The cast may not be your favourite, but there is a bloody good orchestra and crew working on this show, and I fear the worst or them! Think about those that are often forgotten in this sort of situation. I think its time some people grew up on this board. Its fine not to like a show, but try and be adult about it.

Wouldn't like to be sat behind those two - you'd be watching the entire performance through their hair.

That's exactly what we said. I've seen Brian May at various shows and ending up in the seat behind him remains one of my biggest theatre nightmares. Thankfully it hasn't happened so far.

So sad it's closed. A classy and elegant show.. A rarity in the west end.

the point I'm making is, why did they even email me the offer, I had bought the tickets at full price 4 days prior, and for those that can't see anything wrong, well I just can't wait till something similar happens to yourselves, karma is a wonderful thing...ain't it Petrol man Matty Winn.

Um...I don't think they sent the special offer email to yourself and *just* yourself, just to spite you or something. That was probably sent to every single email they have on their list, and it was pure bad luck that you bought tickets before the deal came to be!

I'm not seeing the issue here. I filled my car with petrol yesterday in preparation for a long journey on Saturday. If the price of petrol drops between now and when I use it should I get some of my money back? Apparently so, by the OP's logic. Conversely, I wonder how he'd feel if the price went up and they made him pay the extra before they'd honour the booking. After all, if price reductions apply retroactively then surely price increases should do the same.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if in due course we see this story from the other side on Not Always Right.
