Personally, Carrie is the best Eponine I've seen out of five. Best sung and best acted.

I'm sure she'll be there. Maybe all her rest this week has been with that in mind as well?

Also, I found out the last show for this cast is October 25th :)

Emma was on again tonight. Sounds like Willemijn is still suffering.

Yeah I know she's had lots of good reviews as well, I just didn't particularly warm to her compared to Louise and Gina before sadly. Like I say, will give her another chance when I can afford it!

Emma's on for the matinee again today too it seems.

Back from this and seeing Emma. She was INCREDIBLE and by far the best thing about the show. Despite being tiny, her belt is just fantastic but then she also demonstrated great range in the more delicate parts of the score too. Loved her acting choices throughout.

Defying Gravity was quite something - she just unleashed this power from nowhere and it blew everyone away. A cheeky few riffs in it and also TWAI as well (which she made one small line fluff in too but that was the only thing I could fault her for). I'd see her again in a heartbeat and would not be disappointed to see her unexpectedly.

I didn't warm to Savannah at all. She wasn't bad but came across as really forced and over the top which irked me slightly and made her much less funny than Glinda should be. A solid soprano but nothing outstanding, NOMTW was good but I thought she went downhill from there - if anything she seemed a bit bored by the time we reached the end of the second act and just wanted it to end. For Good was disappointing consequently and wasn't as emotional as it could have been. Didn't like her choices in Popular either which highlighted the lack of chemistry between her and Emma, sadly. Think they need a few more shows together to properly click.

Sam Edwards was okay as Fiyero but on occasion a bit plank of wood-ish. Certainly looked the part and sang it pretty well with a few bum notes particularly in ALAYM. Thought he was a better dancer than singer but to his credit he did work well with both leading ladies.

Was lovely to have a Wizard who could sing so well done Martyn Ellis; but thought he rushed his lines rather. Morrible disturbed me (not sure if that's a good thing or not) and was very shouty. No complaints about Sam and Katie as Boq and Nessa - seen them a couple of times before and can't really fault their portrayals or voices. Paul Clarkson was great as Dillamond too with what little he had to do; a shame that track gets so little stage time.

On the whole I did enjoy the show still and was good to see a mix up of leads and a couple of covers. Ensemble were tight and dancers were much cleaner than on previous visits. A shame about Savannah but it could have been an off night. Will definitely return to see Willemijn and Jeremy, though, and give her another chance.
