, the decent thing for the theatre to do is to contact those affected who have already booked, with an offer of redress and to make the situation clear to potential customers from then on.  I have known another theatre do this recently and to make amends, they offered me the choice of a move to a better seat at no cost (unlikely here as the show is already quite booked up, certainly on the date I am due to see it) or a voucher to reduce the cost of a future booking.

Silence so far from the St James, but I shall wait to see and give them the opportunity to respond honourably...

Actually that is EXACTLY what the St James Theatre did do. I orginally had seats on the front row which they then contacted and said due to restrictions i have been reseated. They were very polite and honest and did a great proactive job. They have subsequently removed those seats entirely. I think to be honest you need to see the show first. The theatre is intimate and you can see everything from all seats. yes there will be some cut off for those at back row or certain areas in the front but these are minimal from what i could see. Have to say St James theatre staff have always been great and the west end could take an example from their box office staff...not a hint of the attitude you get from some of the old maids in their caged kingdoms up west !

yep agree with the positives we were there last night and had a great night ! Saw the original on broadway and this is a great take on a modern classic...very funny but also lots of darkness and a nice splash of gore...cracking ensemble who stopped the show twice in the second act and also great performances across the board LOVED all the principals and no one smokes like Jenna Russell !

Would say if there are seats left really go between Row F and K for a great overall view and try to see this at the gorgeous St James before it transfers .....just a brilliant piece of musical theatre and with the right home ( Vaudeville, Pinter or Ambassadors it will have a long life in the west end
