I've just booked for this. Was looking on the ATG website, and to my surprise there was one ticket, second row stalls, for £19.50 for next Saturday matinee. Every other day it was on sale for top price. So I grabbed it, and didn't have to pay a booking fee either. V odd. Looking forward to it.

When Sonia Freidman explained why that were bringing over Gavin Creel and Jared Gartner, and not using UK actors she said "it became clear early on during the audition process on London that we needed the real thing".  Am therefore assuming that this week she's either eating her words or standing in the foyer offering refunds!

Obviously not - as having seen both Gavin and Ashley Day - there's not much to call between them although they play the part differently - certainly wouldn't consider one the real thing and one not.

Why do producers feel the need to say such ridiculous things in order to justify decisions?  I'm sure that she always wanted a long run and therefore a recast - presumably with local actors. Given that the prices are going up and up this means she expects people to pay more for not seeing the real thing!!

An apology to British actors including the majority of the current cast might be in order.  How about it Sonia?

For anyone interested (and free this coming Monday evening 18/3) - they've reduced some top price seats for this 2nd preview from 49.50 to 19.50 !

Not surprising though, theres plenty of seats still up for sale for this 2nd preview

When I booked, it was £15 best available (and I got centre of row, near front stalls) if you quoted "FANDAY" online (as I booked) or by 'phone.  This was supposed to be valid for the rest of the run and any perf, so try it and see if the website will still accept it.

Announced on Twitter today that Samuel Edwards (previously ensemble in Ghost, 1st cover Sam Wheat) will be joining the cast in January 2013. Any idea who he's going to play?

And any rumours/confirmation of Sierra's replacement as Fantine yet?

#244834 Blood Brothers Last Shows

Posted Seriously on 11 November 2012 - 03:18 AM

For those of you who weren't there... at the end of the bows a large screen was flown on to the stage, and the cast stood at the sides.  It showed pictures one by one of every cast member who's performed at the Phoenix.... culminating in Robert Locke, Carl Wayne and Stephanie Lawrence, the three who've sadly passed away.  Then the cast came forward again and sang the end of Tell Me It's Not True... singing the last verse a capella right at the front of the stage with the house lights up.  Then the band and all the behind the scenes people came on stage to join them.

Then Bill Kenwright came up and gave a lengthy speech in which he thanked everyone and highlighted some special people... he also called up Bob Tomson his co-director.  And then Blood Brothers left the West End....
