This was the double bill when Albert Finney and Maggie Smith performed at Chi.  By all accounts it
was a high octane event.

I haven't seen as many productions as others on this board but my highlights in 2013 were:

1. This House.  (To sunshine 2011 who said that she didn't realise 70's politics could be so gripping-  I'm old enough to remember the period and politics were gripping in those days.)
2. Phantom of the Opera at Mayflower, Southampton.  Hubby and I saw it in London decades ago and we took our son to an impressive production, which surpassed the one we saw in the West End.
3. Richard Eyre's production of "The Pajama Game" at Chichester.

I'm tempted to add "Barnum" which I didn't feel was anywhere as bad as others have made out.

No real turkeys but I found "If Only." at Chichester wordy and disappointing.  James Graham showed how political drama should be done in "This House.".

The Evening Standard long list of those nominated for theatre awards has just been published.  Mark Umbers and Jenna Russell have been nominated for their roles in "Merrily..." but nothing for Damien Humbley.
