I saw this on the second preview. I agree it was a good production of a play I had not seen for several years. Frank Langella was a good Lear but I too felt that his offspring were underpowered. Cordelia looked glum throughout and gave no sense of her love for her father whereas Regan and Goneril, for me, were not nasty enough.
Other than that the staging was good and it zipped along well. Looking forward to comparing this to the National Theatre production next year.
