I booked tickets for this play purely on Nicholas' review, see post #4 above and I echo his sentiments. This is a hard watch but it is good. Performances of the actresses was spot on. A very different spiky Sinead Matthews. I liked the lighting and the growing amoeba shaped stain of their lives.

This forum generally has a variety of opinions, which is healthy! What annoys me most is when people don't give reasons or explanations of their views, which makes them worthless.
If commenting on a play I have seen I am always really worried about spoilers and ruining the show for others

It's hard to express how brilliant this was. I doubt I will see anything as good (as intense, as raw, as full on) this year, which means that basically my theatregoing life is ruined, but I can't praise it enough.
I went further, in my four year theatre watching career I don't think I have seen anything better. Some great acting, loved the set and some very good interpretations. 'Intense, raw and full on' is right

Always thought this as a very positive place. Some very good contributors who post very constructively. Nothing to see here

Long-time obsessive reader of forum, finally decided to join in.

Saw this yesterday afternoon, and would agree with all of KevinUK's points.

I'm not sure how much it changed the dynamic, but Martha Plimpton was off yesterday and her understudy (sorry, don't know her name) did a pretty good job....I was slightly disappointed though, especially since there was no word about it from FOH beforehand, but maybe a missed a printed announcement at the door.

Quite a few empty seats, especially where I was downstairs where stage normally is.  My pillar seat was fine, since it was only a very narrow temporary pillar.  Did feel, however, that the other side were getting the better deal, especially in the final (definitely superfluous) scene.

Not a great play, but worth seeing for Peter Egan, and his hair.
Out of interest, which side were you on?
