They should pick a theatre and have them all play there for 1 year each thus helping the young, curious and fans but freeing up the rest of the west end for exciting new musicals

I completely agree - using the same group of actors, there's no reason why they couldn't do 4 musicals a year.

Same old poster .. Yawn.

It will be like the recent Oliver.. A soulless revival just to make cash.

This fills me with dread. A gorgeous large west end theatre filled with a dreary revival , which will be a pale imitation of the original...Just to fill Cameron Mackintosh's pockets even more.

Charging top price for previews is the producers decision, any complaints should be aimed at them, not the creatives.

True, but in this instance, are they not one and the same?

Shows rarely promote previews unless heavily discounted, they just show the date its running and there is nothing when you book to say preview or when opening night is, and the majority of theatregoers wont know what a preview is anyway, and when they are paying top dollar why should they.

Yes I do agree, if you are a regular theatregoer you should really know what previews are and thats why I tend to avoid them.  However, if you are paying your £65 your opinion is just as valid as the next person and have the right to expect a quality production.

"On the issue of money, sadly it costs an awful lot to stage these shows so unsurprisingly , producers won't want to sell at a discount, ESP a show featuring a name like DR."

and because of that, people will quite rightly demand a finished product.  You wouldnt accept a half arsed product in anyother walk of life, theatre is no different.

Also, if its a revival of something, very little is realistically going to change between first preview and opening night.  If you dont like the play, you dont like the play.

I'm not prepared to give it a chance at the price I paid. I don't give a pricey dress a chance if it has wonky seams - I don't buy it or I take it back. Of course the experience of theatre isn't like that but no one can accuse me of not putting my money where my mouth is. So I feel entitled to say that something is not as good as it could be or ought to be. Previews should be cheaper then. Sometimes they are. But his was full price last night and much more than I normally spend on top price tix in every other London theatre.

God, I'm well not looking forward to this. From what Iv read on here, u walk in and it's a slaughterhouse of Shitness. The music? Shit. The sets? Shit. The kids? Not shit but still shit.

The first half is uncolourful and long. The second half is too colourful and short.  The paper plane bit is magical unless u can see the wire, and then it's like being told Santa is a rapist.

We hate the theatre for not smelling of chocolate. We hate MnM world FOR smelling of chocolate. We r pretty sure Hodge's performance isn't Wilder's, nor Depp's but we ain't certain.

Vivian obviously isn't 90. The glass lift is/isn't needed. Pure Imagination is the only song we will enjoy.

Basically only a pigeon with a limp would enjoy this twaddle.
I'm in the gods on 13th July. Il let u know what I hate about it shortly after.

Postscript: I'm white, gay, poor working class.

Postpostscript: if u dislike what I have written then its just fond satire. I love this site to death but is completely up its own bottom at times :)

Oh this is one of the funniest posts i have read on here :)

Can't believe there isn't a post for this already.
Anyone seen it? Saw it this evening and thought the whole cast were fab. Not one weak performance.

I thought the actually musical was weird. Score was brilliant but the plot was strange. I understand why this ain't been revived.

Keith Ramsay as Billy was a bloody marvel! His performance terrified me. When he screamed about not feeling anything it turned my blood cold!!! He seems to b a very exciting chap and I'm looking forward to seeing him as someone else.

In conclusion, totally go see this if u can get tickets. ALSO it's only 2 hours long! Everything should only be 2 hours long!
