#288284 The Light Princess

I finally caught this yesterday matinee. I utterly loved it, as did my mother, but I can understand it is probably not suitable for everyone. Not much I can add that hasn't already been said but I am completely in awe of Rosalie Craig. I've been desperate to see her in something and she was flawless yesterday. Nick Hendrix started the show but left at the interval, which was the best decision because his voice sounded very strained and cracked. He was replaced by Jamie Muscato who was very good and I commend him for making a seemless transition into the role. It must be difficult! Personally I quite liked the music, yes it did feel a tad repititive but it was a nice repitition and I didn't mind too much. If I'm honest, it's nice to see something original that isn't completely dire. The staging and effects were amazing to me, maybe I don't see enough pantos to think it's panto material! Everyone around me seemed to enjoy it - though only a few standing for Rosalie (myself included). I am really considering nipping down for a mid week matinee before this ends, I would hate to never get to see it again!

#288196 Bad Behaviour At A Show

I was at Les Mis the other night when a rather tweedy looking man, who seemed to be accompanying his parents and obviously not enjoying himself, actually got out his phone and made a call right in front of me during the performance!

Will this inconsiderate behaviour ever stop? :P

Exactly. It just happens to fast for the audience to cope.

Perhaps an audience back in the day would have pieced together the two sightings of Chino and the gun earlier in the act and figured it was coming. Nowadays that is probably expecting too much.

They always had the same issue with Blood Brothers.

I swear Miss Saigon managed it fine. Happens often enough in plays and other productions that are not coming to mind.

Yes the clipboard guys can be awful, Ive been harassed by one that had been drinking demanding to know who had already left and who I was waiting for, then pushing people out the way and getting in the face of the actress leaving.
Ive no idea why people still sign things for them, given they dont go to see the show.

Has Sierra's start date been confirmed anywhere? The official site & facebook page are as unhelpful as ever...

Vicerys thats true the really good adaptations make you forget the film whilst youre watching them, I rarely thought of Ricky Lake's Tracy during Hairspray and with Billy Elliot I tend to forget is a film adaptation all together. Unlike Ghost and Dirty Dancing where I was constantly reminded of the film.

That said i really enjoyed it but had no desire to go back after cast change, too much else to see.
